How do I access Animal Simulator?
Animal Simulator is available at www.animalsimulator.com. Each Institute is provided with a login credentials (Username and Password) to access their customized portal. Your login details will be provided to you by your University Administrator or Elsevier India.
How do I sign in?
Log on to www.animal simulator.com
- Enter the username and password as provided.
- View Experiments subscribed by your university.
- Take assessments and evaluation as assigned to you by your university administrator.
Note: In IP based subscriptions, access to Animal Simulator is restricted to computers, whose IP addresses have been added to the subscription by your university. Check with your university administrator for computers on which you can access Animal Simulator.
How will I know if my university has duration based or IP based subscription?
To find out if your university has a duration based subscription or IP based subscription, please contact your university administrator or Elsevier at the contact details mentioned on the Contact Us page on www.animalsimulator.com.
My university has a duration based subscription. How do I get my login details?
If you are a student, you don't need to create your account. Your account will be created by your instructors and the details will be sent to you by email. If you haven't received your username and password, please contact your instructor(s) or university administrator.
If you are an instructor, your username and password will be sent to you by Elsevier India Administrators. If you haven't received your username and password, please contact your dedicated Elsevier India Administrator.
I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
Do not worry, if you've forgotten your login details. If you have an email address on record, we can send your password to you. Just click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link in the login box on www.animalsimulator.com, enter your email address and click ‘Submit’ to retrieve your password.
My university has not subscribed to Animal Simulator yet. Can I still get access?
Animal Simulator offers some experiments for feedback and discovery.On the homepage of animalsimulator.com, there is a option of free trial. You can register for a free trial and you can become a trial user to access our flagship experiments and other product features for a limited period of time
How do I view a course after logging in?
After you have signed in you will land on the ‘My Courses’ page on Animal Simulator. The link for this page is also available on the menu available on the right hand side. The ‘My Courses’ page displays the list of courses that have been assigned to you by your instructor(s) or university administrator. Click on the ‘play’ button adjacent to each experiment name and you will be able to view the complete experiment with all the content.
Can I exit a course and come back later?
Yes. Courses are available for a set period of duration of a subscription. This gives the student an opportunity to leave and re-enter the course as many times as necessary within the given access window. Students can also come back to review the course, even after it has been completed, which makes Animal Simulator a great practice tool.
Can I customize courses on Animal Simulator?
You cannot customize courses automatically. However, we can work with you to customize a course to meet your specific needs. You can always give us your valuable feedback relating to the product usage and content. You can also get in touch with our team for any particular requirement (details as mentioned in contact us )
Are these courses available in languages other than English?
The default language for courses is English. However, language of courses can be customized as per requirement. We have translated our products in other Indian and Foreign languages including Tamil, Assamese, Thai, and Kazakh, among others for our customers. Please contact us for more information.
What does My Examination means?
My Examination tab in the student’s portal is for the evaluation purpose for the university admin. In case a student is assigned an exam by the university administrator he will not be able to see any courses until he completes and submits the exam.
What are the Reports for an student?
Reports is section whereby the student can view his progress in overall courses assigned to him/her. There will be data on no of attempts for each course assigned and examinations attempt. For an University admin , there will be data on how all students are using the product, the examination attempts,subscription details and likewise. There is an option of datewise tracking of the data also.

How do I update my profile?
You can update your profile after logging in by clicking on the ‘Edit Profile’ link in the on the top right side.
How do I update My Courses?
In case you wish to subscribe to some other courses other than currently subscribed you can contact your University administrator or Elsevier India.
What are the hardware and software requirements for Animal Simulator?
All you need is a computer with an Internet connection and a Web browser. Many of the courses require some free plug-ins that is typically included in your browser already. In addition, you need to allow pop-ups on the site. You can have best viewing and learning experience if you access www.animalsimulator.com on Google Chrome.
My institute does not have an Internet infrastructure. How can I still access Animal Simulator?
Animal Simulator is also available as an offline product for institutional sale and use only. In this case we can give only limited offline licenses to the institute to be used in library and labs.
My institute has a firewall. Will that affect my ability to use Animal Simulator?
It may or may not. Our courses are delivered over the Internet. While most institutes’ firewalls allow limited access to the Internet, you should confirm with your institute’s IT department. Please contact us with questions or concerns.
